Ingoma tours Story

My name is NTWARI Shaka, and my journey began as a drummer, passionately performing and refining my craft over three years. Alongside this, I worked part-time as a marketer for a private tourism company in Kigali, Rwanda. In this role, I gained invaluable experience showcasing the natural beauty and cultural treasures of my homeland.
During two transformative years, our efforts achieved remarkable success, yet I felt a deeper calling—to create something that fused my love for music with the spirit of exploration. This vision gave birth to Ingoma Tours.
The name “Ingoma” carries profound significance in Rwandan culture. While it translates to “drums” in Kinyarwanda, it embodies much more. Historically, it symbolized the throne of precolonial kings—a representation of power, unity, and communication. In African traditions, drums have always played a central role, not just as instruments but as tools for storytelling, connection, and shared heritage.
Through Ingoma Tours, I have crafted a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors to connect with Rwanda’s vibrant culture. We blend drumming with adventure, inviting guests to learn about our heritage, explore stunning landscapes, and immerse themselves in the rhythm of Rwandan life. By integrating music, storytelling, and sustainable tourism, we celebrate the richness of our traditions while fostering respect for our environment and communities.
This endeavor is more than a business—it’s a bridge between the past, present, and future. It offers a unique way to showcase Rwanda’s beauty through sound, rhythm, and adventure, allowing visitors to participate in drumming sessions while exploring the breathtaking wonders of our country.
